This very small Bucephalandra is produced in an Indonesian nursery under the trading name “Mini Coin”. There it is tied to plates (pads), each pad with many single plants. Its exact origin and species belonging is unknown to us, but as well as all Bucephalandras, it originates from Borneo island, growing as a rheophyte (adapted to strong current) on rock in the flood zone of rainforest streams. Bucephalandra sp. “Mini Coin” is surely among the smallest epiphytes ever. Its leaves are max. 1 cm long, often shorter, varying in shape from obovate to elongate with wavy edge. The plant has a flat, creeping growth habit with horizontal rhizomes. At the moment, “Mini Coin” is a real rarity.
