The color variation Taiwan Bee – Pinto Red is an intensely red colored shrimp (body color) with very nice white pattern / white stripes on the (mostly) abdomen. The patter itself of the white stripe pattern is a bit different with each Taiwan Bee – Pinto Red shrimp and is sometimes more, sometimes less flat.
The keeping of the Taiwan Bee – Pinto Red is similar to that of other Taiwan Bees and also to the Bee Shrimp / Red Bee, although the Taiwan Bee – Pinto Red Shrimps are not classic beginner shrimp but rather more demanding in terms of water quality and water values. At a temperature of 20-26 ° C, the pH should be slightly in the acidic range with low carbonate hardness.
The Taiwan Bee – Pinto Red dwarf shrimp grows to a maximal body length of 2,5 cm and reaches an age of approximately two years. The males stay slightly smaller than the females and do not get as plump.
The Pinto Red – Taiwan Bee shrimp, like other shrimps too, is an omnivore and will eat just about any food. The species is very peaceful. You can easily keep them together with fish that do not predate on shrimp. When these shrimp are happy with their environment, the females will release up to 25 almost fully developed shrimplets after carrying the eggs under their pleon for around 4 weeks.
The Taiwan Bee – Pinto Red do not have any special requirements regarding the aquarium decoration … here you can use your imagination freely. The shrimp are happy with a little moss and driftwood … and if there are some hiding-places like tubes or brown autumn leaves (oak or beech) in the tank, the Pinto Red Shrimp have everything they need.
